Your data, made simple

A short version of our Privacy Policy for junior bowlers and their parents.

Version 1.0 · 5 May 2026

Tenpin Ireland runs tenpin bowling on the island of Ireland. We look after some information about you so we can run leagues, run competitions, and pick teams. We take this seriously and we want you to know what we do.

This page is the short version. The full version lives on our website and is a bit longer, but says the same things. Your parents or guardians can read both, and so can you.

What we keep about you

  • Your basic details: name, date of birth, club, and how to contact you or your parent.
  • Your bowling: competitions you enter and the scores and rankings you earn.
  • Photos and video at events: only with your parent’s permission.
  • Anything important about your health that you choose to tell us so we can keep you safe at events.

Why we keep it

  • To register you as a member.
  • To enter you in competitions and keep your scores.
  • To pick teams to play for Ireland.
  • To keep you safe through our safeguarding work.
  • To tell you and your parents about events, training, and team news.

Who sees your information

Only people who need to see it to help run the sport. That can include:

  • Tenpin Ireland officers and volunteers.
  • Your club and the bowling centre you bowl at.
  • Sport Ireland, when needed.
  • International bowling bodies, when you enter international events.

We do not sell your information to anyone. We never use it to send you ads. The law in Ireland says it would be a crime for us to do that with a child’s information.

How long we keep it

  • Your name will appear in junior results on our website for this season and last season. After that we tidy older results so people can’t easily be picked out by name.
  • If you stop bowling, we delete what we no longer need.
  • Some safety records (like vetting for adults working with juniors) we have to keep for longer because the law says so.

Your rights

You’re in charge of your information. You can ask us to:

  • Show you what we have about you.
  • Fix anything that’s wrong.
  • Delete things when they’re no longer needed.
  • Stop sending you newsletters.
  • Take down a photo you’d rather wasn’t up.

If you’re a junior, you can ask us yourself or your parent or guardian can ask for you. Either way is fine.

How to get in touch

If you have a question or want to ask us about your information, the best person to talk to is our Data Protection Officer:

  • Email: to be confirmed — in the meantime you can email the office at secretary.executive@tenpinbowling.ie
  • Post: Data Protection Officer, Tenpin Ireland, Irish Sport HQ (NGB Building), National Sports Campus, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15

If you ever feel we haven’t handled your information properly, you can also tell the Data Protection Commission: www.dataprotection.ie.

The longer versions

This is the short version. The full versions — our Privacy Policy and Children’s Data Policy — are on our policies page.
